Hi sorry to ask this as i know it wud have been answered million times !

I was researching how to correctly wrap fleece polo wraps (the thick non stretchy ones that dont need gamgee)

And as i learnt my horse care in the 90's i remember we did all bandages by starting at top on an angle and then folded the flap down and wrapped over it to secure nicely in place...

So i see that nowadays there are 2 opinions ?? That u start at top as we we taught or that u start in middle then work down then back up

I understood about not displacing the tendon and always wrapping front to back if that makes sense

So wud jus like to know wats the latest recommended way in uk with regards to where u start from ?

Thanks !

for polo (so presume its a way to do polo wraps ;)) i start at top with an extra bit that is folded down back of leg to offer extra protection to tendons (so about 10 inches worth depending on size of horse/front or back leg) then bandage down and back up

Me too. Worked as a polo groom whilst at Uni, and that's how we did it ;0)

Yep, i always start at the top, down then back up again finishing at the top so the bandage is as smooth against the horses skin as possible. If bandaging legs for polo then leave the flap which goes down the back of the tendon for a bit of extra 'padding', but i don't usually bother with my own because i usually only use bandages for schooling on the flat.

Guys thank you ALL so much,

Im quite relieved to hear the top is whats usually done !

awesome info about the extra flap for the tendon !

cant wait to do it ! :)
