I don't swear much generally, but when it comes to jumping I seem to send half my time swearing

I jumped Murphy round a course this afternoon, which is really hard work because he's so lazy and his jumping is a little erratic, and I kept having to apologise to everyone else about my language. I'm going to have to tape my mouth shut when I jump at a show

Does anyone else do this?! Maybe I need to think of some nice fluffy words instead...

Oh yes. I am famous in my hunt and at local venues for swearing when jumping.
Today I shouting f**k me when I lost my reins and jumped the second part of a combo.

Sooo glad I'm not the only one!

ha ha...so glad I'm not alone!

My jumping tends to go:

"F***king MOVE Murphy!" - on approach
"Get the f**k over it" - just before the jump
"Sh*t!!" - moment of take off
"F***********ck!!!" - flying through the air, clinging on to pony
"Good boy" - all smiles on landing!!

My mother would be so ashamed

I really don't intend to swear at all!

Hell yes! I believe the voice is considered an aid, and I make full use of it when jumping!

I try not to say anything too rude, especially if there are lots of kiddes present, but if it all goes a bit Pete Tong then something bad might slip out.

I think stressage brings out my worst language at the moment on the baby but yes I certainly have been known to swear when jumping, esp over stupid stuff out hunting!

No, but only because I hold my breath in fear! I am trying to get myself to say 'come on George' over the jumps so I don't hold my breath, perhaps swearing would help!

i tend to swear an awful lot when riding
when flatwork schooling its normally oh you cow, you stupid bugger stop pissing about etc etc

and then if she goes into the jump deep/long i normally go oh crap
and then if she tanks on landing i normally say oh F*c*

haha

Being around disabled kids (espec. the mentally disabled ones) at a stables run by a nun trained any thought of swearing near horses out of me.

OH on the other hand embarassed himself massively in front of a charming slightly older lady instructor by using the f word VERY loudly becasue he though he was going to die going over his first ever x-pole!

I always do :/
Either "f**king hell that was good" or "get your f**king arse into gear (horse or rider, whichever made the mistake)!
smile.gif

I only do it cross country though!

I think the only time i actually said something loud enough for others to hear was whilst doing my stage two exam a few years back going over the second to last jump and said s**t rather loudly. lol

Oh yes.

Some of my famous lines -
(Same fall, same fence, same lesson, I was oldest by 20 or so years)
Fall 1. 'Oh bugger'
2. 'Sh!t'
3. 'You big fat useless Fcker!'

(At a weave pole race in Tennessee last year - picture the scene - they prayed before each section of the competition

)
I went 'fck' bugger' 'sh!t' between each pole and then 'booollloooooox' during the rundown

Oh god yes, allllll the time!!
Most recently: was heading to second part of a double, which was admittedly absolutely massive, felt him falter, took a hand off the reins in preparation to give a smack, and found myself clinging on for dear life as he launched early, me rodeo-style onehanded, screaming 'f**************ck!'
tongue.gif

So yes happens a lot. when going through grids on the new one, who's quite 'pingy' lol, i just have a couple of squeaks of 'sh*t!'
grin.gif

I do it so often that i don't think they'd jump if i wasn't shrieking away on top, think they've grown accustomed to it
grin.gif

yepp!
drop fences,, ''f*******ccccckkkkk''
water '' don't you f**king dare stop! get on! grrrr!'' then "shhhiiitttt" when the masive bambi leap of the edge occurs!

i dont swear so much as know theres young riders around so i say bumcakes when things go wrong as the younger riders laugh. when i say it ..

I always swear
Jumping old cob and heading towards a 1m10 fence at speed and all I remember shouting is "sh*t" and then when i lande "OH MY GOD I JUMPED THAT!!"
I swore very loudly at a show once, or maybe twice, when i both came out the side door.
And riding my TB its usually "pack the fu*ker in!"
