Want some free riding for a few months, has anyone ever had anybody just come and ride with them. Before I start advertising thought I would see what you all thought. My Dad has just been diagnozed with cancer, so mum with not be riding much. So I have a 7 year old 15.1hh gelding that needs some work. I would be looking for a competent/experienced, confident adult with their own insurance. Any thoughts, comments greatly appreciated:)
 
Firstly, I hope your Dad gets better soon. Having lost my own Dad to cancer, I know how stressful these times can be!

Secondly! YES! I'm sure you'd be able to find someone! I ride for free on my little pony, as I'm schooling him on for the owner.
Try advertising on Equine Adverts as that's where I saw the ad.
What kind of facilities do you have? I'm struggling with the decision to carry on as there's no lighting/arena at my yard and I don't/won't hack in the dark.

Put honestly down what the horse is like, what the yard is like and be prepared (judging by my own owners experiences to have to sort the wheat from the chaff!)

Perhaps ask for a teeny contribution, perhaps mucking out or poo-picking to help you out or perhaps just for your sharer to pay for hoof trims or whatever?

I do all yard chores on my day and pay for the farrier, although the payment is what I asked for as I felt a little guilty riding for free!
 
Thank you, its our own place so no school just hacking, weekends and two days in the week if they are shift workers and can fit it in. I think i might put something on facebook,:)
