Do you think my cob will grow much more than

his rump!

He will be 2 on the 28th May, his rump is currently 15.1hh and his withers 14.2hh

His sire is 16hh and his grandsire 15.2.. think his dam is about 15hh.

How much more do they tend to grow, I know he won't stop growing until he is 5+ but do they grow much more? Is his rump likely to grow loads more?

He is a heavy weight Drum cob

I have a nearly 2 gypsy vanner, he is just about 14.2 in front and a bit bigger behind. He is expected to make 15.1 or so.

Try the string tests.

either measure from centre of knee to coronet, straight down. Length in inches is height in hands, so 15 and a half in is 15.2

or take a lead rope hold the clip at his elbow and measure the length to his ergot. Then keeping the elbow end still turn the rope upside down. Where the ergot measurement was should be the final height.

you enjoyed that didn't you....... lol I am only 5 foot 3(.3) and he is sooooo wide my little legs won't come past the saddle flaps! OH is 6 foot 2 tho,so he is hoping for a gert giant!

Nah nor me really, I am just so impatient I wanted peoples opinions, ideally I would have liked him to stop at 15.2, but his bottom is 15.1 now,so I guess he is gonna be a maxi cob X
