Do you think my horse is suffering from dementia??

3 miles isn't far for peacock noise - we can hear them from the other side of the valley.

I would 2nd the suggestion of a Cushings test. Mine had very few, mild physical symtoms, and also was very 'senile' in his behaviour. HIs ACTH levels were more than 4 times what they should have been for that time of year.
Ha! I think you are right about the peacocks! I have not visited the house (despite living here for 30 years) but looking on their website, they DO have peacocks. I think they used to have 2 and now have added 2 more. I measured the distance and it's 1.6 miles away, so I guess, in the right conditions, she can hear them with her supersonic horse hearing. Clever you!

Actually, t was Beausmate who had the idea first :)

I hope the Peacocks are the cause - better something external than internal - but what you do about it could be tricky!
