I've asked the YO'ers daughter to ride my cob twice a week for me for the next few weeks because we're going to the Riding Club camp early April and I'm struggling to find time to get him fit for it. That way I can do 4 days a week, her 2 and he'll get one day off!
So yesterday she did her first ride with him!!! I've been on the yard for years and she rides out with me all the time so she knows Kanes 'little ways!!!!' and is a confident rider so I told her either school him or go for a hack or whatever she wanted really just make him sweat!! So she said he was a sod trying to get on, for me he stands lovely but he can be worried for other people getting on!! Anyway she decided to go into the school first...to which he decided cantering round and round was in order, she said he was trying to be naughty so she just kept him going even when he realised he wasn't winning and wanted to stop!!! Lol!! Then she took him upto the big fields, where with me he can get nappy if ridden out alone!! She said he tried to nap at the gate so she gave him a tap on the shoulder and sent him forwards into the field...to which he went okay love lets go and gallopped her over the 40 acres!!! Half way across again he got tired but she said nope get on with it then!!! Walked him back across the fields on the buckle end...with me we usually bounce all the way home so he was obviously shattered!!!!
When I got to the yard that evening there he was sleeping in his stable..and to add insult to injury he was wearing a borrowed pink fleece rug cos he'd sweated up!!!!
So hopefully now he'll appreciate his kind mummy who takes him on nice hacks to the beach and remember that I don't dress him in pink!!!
Hee hee won't tell him she's working him again on Wednesday..tonight it's my turn to make him work, wander if he'll be as energetic for me!!!
