I really want to get Spooks doing some lead rein classes before he is sold, he has been shown in hand at county level and done very well, but I need a small jockey to ride him in lead riens. How likely is it do you think that someone will do this? And how do I find them?

Also, if there is anyone out there with a small child that wants to show, and is ponyless, let me know...

pity your too far, you could of had my girls

Got a 9 and 10 years old boys that can both walk and trot off lead rein fine at riding school? Start stop and steer is well ingrained and they coped hacking out off lead rein on holiday.

But as yet they've never had to sit a buck or spook etc.

Both I'm sure would be keen as mustard and come with horsey mum/groom in tow?

ETA: Neither is very tall for there age and ride smaller and bigger ponies at the riding school .

Sounds perfect! Would they like to come over and have a sit?

he is very well behaved, but not ready to go off lean rein with someone that young, although dont think it will be long. Trying to get the rest of his winter coat out so he can start showing

I'm sure they'd love to come and have a sit and neither will mind being on the lead rein. Definitly safest all round I think.

Will PM you.

Lead rein classes are for under 8yo children where I live but sensible to have competent child on first to make sure all is sensible

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I come from a COMPLETELY unhorsey family and this is how I started! If it wasn't for this wonderful lady, I wouldn't be where I am now. I rode for her for years and she taught me so much. The pony was a little git but I absolutely adored him and he really taught me how to ride (and have velcro!!).

Ask around and I'm sure there will be a budding jockey out there!
