Oh everything just seems to go pearshaped just when you think its starting to turn corner.Last 2yrs have been crap in relation to horses!1st a mare I had was PTS then bought my daughter a 2nd jumping pony-5wks later it got a freak kick in field and broke its splint bone, that was going well then (6 months from initial injury)twits from yard we were on at that time put mare out in field by mistake with horses she had never been in with or seen and she did a front tendon 18months later she now seems fine but as she was a jumping pony don't know if she'll be up to heights she used to do,got my horse back who attacks you,now daughter wants to sell horse she's had for 6 months as she's sick of having an argument with it every day!!Mare is being a nappy cow at moment does mostly bunny rears but can go higher and came back to yard from hack at great speed!!Just that we paid near 6 grand for this mare-greenish now 7 and selling her may not be that easy.Mare is well bred 16hh/16.2hh.,very pretty quite sweet natured on ground has a real good pop in her and would make a beautiful dressage horse as has lovely paces.Anyone any ideas on a very good calmer.Thank you for 'listening'!!!!

poor you not been a good time for you of late has it? I had a mare who was very exciteable to say the least, tried all the usual stuff changed her feed, added every so called calmer on the market all cost loads of money and didnt work im afraid,in the end i asked my vet and he recommended something but it was years ago and i cant remember the name of it! not very helpfull i know, but maybe you could ask your vet if he knows of any thing, sorry its not anything more positive, but hey whatever it was it did calm her down quite a bit, good luck.

Oestress and Magic can both work, Oestress if hormonal and Magic is magnesium based. My mare got nappy/stroppy & stressy but this all related to back pain, once back sort, she started to behave, so might be worth getting her back checked too.

nope, I think the horses of the world have gone nutty out hacking today!

So many people i spoke to up the yard said their horses were just off the scale!

Thats weird!!We are in NE Scotland! We should do a poll and see how far nutty hacker syndrome has spread!!LOL!!

Thought calmer hopefully might take a bit of edge off so daughter at least gets some enjoyment from riding her!

Thanks mandy!!Sounds silly but forgot bout vet!!Doh!!Will ask when pay bill from other horsey!!
And yea you can land up spending heaps on different ones til you find one that works!!Don't mind trying a couple but after that will look at other options

Back, teeth etc have all been checked and ok so far.Think it is just her nature. Will try the magic I think as a few people appear to have had good results with this. Thanks for bringing up hormones as its something I think I tend to 'forget' about so will look into that.
