Do you think this is worth a try (finding loaner/sharer or paying)

I would like to find someone who is interested in doing 'stuff' with my young mare - competing, teach her to jump (I dont enjoy it), maybe take her hunting or whatever they fancied really.

There seems to be a lack of sharers/loaners in my area of Mid Kent and I dont really want her to move yards. So I was thinking about approaching Hadlow College to see if one of the equine students was interested.

Are any HHO'er at college? Maybe you can tell me if you think its worth a try? Do you think I should pay someone or do you think there might be interest just to share her or what ever. (I am not sure how intensive the equine courses are as to whether anyone would want to/have time/interest to do this). What do you think?

Have you tried advertising for a loaner/sharer? I know quite a few people in Kent that regularly ride other peoples horses/undertake training for others - some paid some not.

I recently found a sharer, she is on the horse and hound forum and is quite frankly the best thing that has happened to me and my horse in a long time. She works realy well with my horse, and i didn't have the time to ride her as much as she needed. Now i know that i can do things that i would not have been able to do before because my horse has the required level of fitness. It has settled my mare so much, and now there are 3 happy souls instead of a p*ssed off mare, an owner who feels guilty that she is not giving her horse the attention she needs and a rider without a horse.
If you can find a sharer then go for it... I was extremely lucky to find mine. (twizzel, if you read this do not get a big head... your hat won't fit!)

Ho hum doesn't sound like anyone thinks the local equine college is a good idea. Back to the drawing board.

Yes I would love to find a sharer, I've been looking on all the usual websites but doesn't seem that there is anybody local looking. Maybe should try an advert and see if anyone suitable comes out the woodwork..

I've just taken on a horse to do exactely what you are looking for so we do exist.

Placing an advert would be a good idea but be very precise about what you are looking for in the person.
