people respond to wanted adverts on horsequest/mart/local shops etc??

sick and tired of searching for new ned so was thinking of putting a wanted ad, but not sure if people would bother to look/respond. horses seem to go so quickly!!

I got my lad through a wanted ad on the nfed. I'd say word of mouth better though - perhaps ask a knowledgeable friend/instructor?

i put a wanted ad up in my local tack shop and got a few responses but from people who didnt have what i wanted lol
eg i asked for not older than 15 one lady rang with a 17yo that was riddled with joint probs and another one i asked for 14.3 - 16hh on lady rang with 13.3 i'm tall so no good lol!!!
would be worht a go tho but agree with golddustsara word of mouth is good!

I've bought the odd "project" pony in the past and every one of them has come from wanted ads! I just stick an ad in all the freebie places online and local newspapers and let them come to me. 2 of the ponies I bought, the owners werent even planning to sell - ponies were left in a field but my ad made them decide to. Definately try it.
