Bit of both really. Would loved to have been able to hack Baron out and school him at same time but wasn't prepared to use that road.
Whenever I took the hack escorts out, I always used it as a way of working the horse, practising leg yield, working on collection & extension.
Also did wonders for my jump position, hacking in jump length stirrups and no rising trot - just letting ankles absorb it. Secures your lower leg really well
