Do you use pink powder?

Use it for both of mine, pony just as precaution/general good for tummy, but mainly aimed at veteran who is colic prone and whose poops tended to be not ideal (hard/mucousy round them). Since using PP his poops are lovely and much less frequent colics. Its cheap and you dont need to feed a lot and Im a fan.

yes I am a big fan. I've used it for over 2 years on my eventer, her coat is ultra glossy and generally in tip top form with it. I took her off it for a couple of months last year and really saw the difference, her coat became dull and didn't seem as bright. Well worth the investment

I used it for my elderly mare when she started dropping weight and had v runny tummy! I am suspicious of the number of supplements around but thought it might help - she did get better but could have just been natural progression of things. I think we over-complicate feeding massively (as with humans) without sufficient evidence for doing so, so won't continue to feed it - but possibly it helped....

I use it for one of mine who isn't in work just now so is only getting a token handful of feed, so I give pink powder to ensure he is getting enough nutrients etc as there isn't a lot of grass in the field, as apart from that he only gets hay.

PP isn't a bit/min supp - it will help them make use of nutrients that are there, but if they aren't there it doesn't supply them, at least that's my understanding - I feed a bit/min supp in winter as well as pp?

Really? I was told that as he has had his feed cut down to the bare minimum and that the grass hasn't come through yet that I should use PP? What would you suggest I use? Should I keep using PP as well? *paranoia* haha :p

I use it for both of mine. My mare just as a general feed balancer, and my gelding gets upset tummies often. I absolutely swear by it, brilliant product.

I feed my TB Pink Powder as a feed balancer and he does look very well on it. I fed it in concentrated form when I first bought him to 'kick start the gut ' as he was in an extremely poor state

i was told that pink powder should really only be used after a horse has been on antibiotics or other meds that kill off the friendly bacteria in the gut as it helps build it back up again but its not for long term use so ive never used it, a few people at my yard do though and their horses all look fab!

Yes! That's exactly the reason I use it. Spoke to NAF about it before I started, who confirmed it supplies all necessary nutrients :)

Used to and GD seemed to do well on it . . . but then I switched from feeding several separate supps and a mix feed to forage/fibre-based feed and a balancer (Blue Chip Original) to a) simplify his feed; and b) save me money.

Tried it when I got my boy as he was quite poor but it did nothing much for him. Switching to micronised linseed was much better for selling his gut and getting weight on

What do you use it for/ think its good for?
Good for nothing, IME.

We had been feeding it for several months, wondering why sister's horse hadn't got her usual sparkle, when I had to get Haylage Balancer to see us over Christmas last year, same ingredients just different proportions. We noticed an immediate deterioration in behaviour and the one with no shoes on the back suddenly had very tender feet. The final straw was along the pebbly track when they were hopping, excitable and extremely difficult to stop - not their usual selves at all.
We took them off it straightaway and they soon sttled bck down. Never again! We now use Brewer's Yeast and Aloe Vera instead.
