*sorry for non-horsey but hoping to reach as many people as possible*
Some of you will be aware of how much I love primates, and I would love you forever if any of you could take the time to help with this petition. It's a paper-signatures only one unfortuantely as online petitions have too strict a time limit.
It isn't to make it illegal to have a pet monkey (unfortunately but I understand that will take a long time) but at the moment they have very little in the way of rights as to how they are kept. You can legally buy a monkey and keep it in a bird cage, which is not uncommon
The petition is to the government to create new legislation/regulations that would mean pet primates must have the same standard of care that they would get in a zoo (e.g. a minimum of space, hopefully not allowed to keep them alone, certain diet, etc.)
If any of you think you could get a few signatures, pass it around work or your friends and send back to Monkey World you can download and print the petition form from here.
