OMG Love him!
I got there (yard looks a little scary initially but it's fine from the inside) and met the owner and the loaner, all seemed above board saw passport and they laughed when asked if it was the same horse in the cross country pictures! They confirmed that it was indeed
.
I watched the loaner tack him up and ride him, he did go a little on the forehand but she is tiny, he was in a snaffle and he certainly wasn't leaning on her. He popped a couple of poles about 3' or so like they were nothing although he did get his strides a tiny bit out over the first one. I rode him ad when I had relaxed (I HATE being watched) he went really nicely, his trot feels amazing and his canter just eats up the ground. He jumped in a lovely rhythm and the jumps went up to around 4' which he jumped exactly the same as the 3' one. I don't think he'd notice if they were 5'!! I took him up to the road and he didn't mind the traffic at all although he did have a good look at the piebalds!!!
He will need a little bit of work with his flatwork but I think he's quite capable of doing a few hunter trials and stuff as he is. I'd like to take him to a cross country course to try him, which they said was fine and I could try to arrange for next week. There is someone else seeing him in Sunday though (yikes) so hopefully they won't like him
I am very keen but I have to bring hubby up to see him as he is doing the buying and he wants to see where his money is going
but hopefully he will like him too!
Wish me luck
