Do YOU wear Hi viz?

I wear a high viz waistcoat everytime I ride out - even if I'm on the bridleway and don't intend to leave it at its end and join the roads because we get a lot of cyclists on the bridleway and dogwalkers so like them to be able to see me in plenty time as bridleway can get very overgrown in summer.

I do and would not get on my horse without it. I do believe that it helps drivers see you better and quicker and even if that means that they slow down only seconds sooner than they would have done, I feel it is worth it for riders to give themselves and other road uses that chance.
I ride around twisty narrow lanes with lots of hills and blind bends so feel it is not an option for me to go out without hi viz. I wear a full high viz jacket and my horse has hiviz leg wraps on all year round, regardless of weather, time of day or month. I feel it helps keep us seen sooner and therefore, keep us a bit safer on roads that are pretty tricky in places.

tabard, hat band, leg wraps on pony, exercise sheet in winter. My thoughts are if ever a car got too close etc, they couldn't argue that they didnt see us.

We have unlimited off road hacking, so don't usually bother. IF we are going on a route where we have to cross/travel 20 yds along a couple of roads then I might stick my tabard on, but generally not. We have twice had to call the air ambulance and they had no problem finding us in dense forestry, somewhere you wouldn't think a chopper could possibly land. That said i did wear it yesterday cos I forgot my jacket and it was the only windproof thing I had in the car.

Our field is next to a bridle path which connects 3 big yards to the forest and I would say 90% of the people using it don't wear high viz, generally only those who have already hacked a fair distance from the other side of the road.
