dress your dog up?

My wee Beastie has a coat for the winter for when she is just recently clipped as she tends to be walked down on the shore which is rather windy and cold during the winter! But it's a wee rug type one that fastens on the chest and then straps around the tummy. The outside is waxed/waterproof and the inside has a nice fleecy kind of lining to make it cosy. Although as you can see below, it doesn't quite reach down he sides so I think she may need a new one!

I have coats much like your doggis coat for my whippets in the winter....other than that...NO...no silly little frilly fairy clothes or out like that...thats just to odd

My littlies have waterproof coats for winter, even though their coats are thick and wirey, when I talk too long down the farm they still get cold.

I confess to owning a t-shirt for Jimmy, it has an "L" plate on it and says "in training" I bought it from Crufts for him to do his obediance training in. It may also fit Bridget for a little while too

No Frillies... my dog will never forgive me... I have Lapel fleece coat and water proof (by danish company). i used them last winter when Boris was a puppy with soft coat. his fur is now coarse and thick (poor thing he's moulting like mad in this weather) he probably doesn't need them but might use the waterproof one if we are at the yard and it's raining. The fleece will probably get used in Austria.

My JR has several sensible coats and a batman costume for when I'm feeling mean, and a burbury sun hat for when I'm feeling really, really mean!!!!

We generally stick with a fleece, but I will put boots on the poor girl when it gets cold; and I don't mean England cold, I mean NYC cold (translation: extremity numbing!).

Here's a video of her playing in Central Park (she is only a puppy here, and the temperature was -15c, hence the loony layering

)

Alas, she no longer has her ASBO hoodie, and these days wears only a simple fleece that doesn't restrict her ability to zoom at will. The boots have stayed, though; she screams after walking on the compacted ice for too long.

I do a bit. My whippets need warm coats for winter. My older girl has knitted pyjahma's at night and a super cool newmarket blanket for the day. She gets most upset about going out without her coat on if it is cold. The younger whippet is made of hardier stuff and makes do with a dinosaur T-Shirt my bro bought her (don't ask).
