I have just had my 4 year old warmbloods shoes taken off all round as she was a nightmare for pulling them off in the field. I have tried everything including two pairs of over reach and consistant turnout to stop her running and playing however my farrier suggested that we take the shoes off for a while, use a hoof hardener and wait for her to grow a stronger foot as in 6 months she has ended up with brittle broken feet after bucking and twisting and weakening the nails resulting in at least 2 shoes off every shoeing cycle.
Has anyone gone through this and had their horses grow out of pulling shoes off? i hope so!
Does anyone have any recommendation of hoof boots to hack out in? Hacking keeps her head sound!
