Dodgy horseboxes

scary isn't it!

Although if you are driving a new (to you) vehicle down the road and the wheel fell off you'd have to question the integrity of the MOT test it's been put through. This is me assuming the little vans are coming with new MOT's.

I know 2 places you can get dodgy MOTs within 20miles. Its horrifically common and easy to do if you know the right people.

BIG red flag on the box that lost a wheel - look at the overspray on the tyre. That would have me walking away. It's a sign of someone having glittered-up a turd.

If you are going to spend £££££ on a box, have it vetted by a recommended professional, or someone who really knows what they're looking at. Sometimes a bit scruffy, but not bodged is a better bet than the shiny-shiny at a bargain price.

I know someone who bought a 7.5t lorry and felt safe as the owners husband was a mechanic and had done all the work etc. As it was a horse person surely they wouldn't sell on something unsafe for horses. It was put to a garage and they condemned it as it had had expanding foam used underneath to disguise a lot of issues.
It was an eye opener for my friend.
