... using pictures of your horse to sell their own?

Has this ever happened to you?

Just by chance I came across an advert for a sale horse yesterday using pictures of my horse! (they are cached in google images)

I reported the ad, but the site admin have just removed the pictures, but not deleted the ad, which is a bit worrying because the advertiser is obviosuly dodgy as hell, and the horse in question is being advertised as 'novice ride/used in riding school' etc

I would think most people would soon realise the horse they turn up to see is not the horse in the photo (unless they've matched them up well!). I'd phone the seller up though and complain!

Bay horse with no markings whatsoever?

I have a collection of 'no markings' horses and people generally find them difficult to tell apart, even though as far as I'm concerned they are completely different!

Haven't had the guts to ring seller!

I'd just put it down to experience. It is not that uncommon sadly.... Is your horse for sale on the same site? Could they have got mixed up?

By the way, you're not allowed to advertise in you siggie.... I'd remove it before you get in trouble! :)

Oh right, I didn't know, I'll remove it.

No, he's not, he was advertised for loan previously on a different site... so its really annoying, as if I were to sell him in the future I've have probably used those pics.

He comes up in google images if you google 'dark bay horse' so I'd say thats where they got it

I was tipped off by somebody on Facebook which I don't use (and wouldn't know how to) that a girl on there was saying that the horses on my website were hers and up for sale! When I got onto Facebook, her details had been removed, so somebody else had complained.Aren't people odd??!!

Sometimes the magazines make the mistake. My horse went into HandH this week with a different horses photo, even though it was correct on their website. HandH were fab and apologised immediately and are re-running the ad for free next issue but I think these mistakes are easily done.x

It was no mistake, I had never advertised on this website, I only found it by chance looking at sale ads.

The site admin have removed the photos from the ad, but they have left the ad... which I think is really bad form...

The horse in question is advertised as a been there, done that, 'used in a riding school with kids' novice ride ... yet it looks like an OTTB to me.

A genuine honest seller would not use somebodys elses photos, I cant understand why it wasn't removed immmediately.

Can you take down the pictures which are showing under a google search? None of mine would come up - I do use facebook but have changed my security settings so only friends (and not friends of friends) can see my photos. Contact the site admin and complain though.
