Dodson and Horrell and Laminitis Trust?

Just a bit of a ponder, I have noticed that the bag of Dodson and Horrell Leisure mix that Toff munches, now says "Supporting Laminitis Research" rather than the actual Laminitis Trust logo/charity number etc. Does this mean they are no longer supported by the charity? Is this because they are doing their own research now or have they changed their ingredients? Just a ponder. The new logo is very similar, so I wondered if it was the Trust's new logo but it was the same old one on the Spiller's feed I use.

Perhaps the mix that you use isn't Lami Trust Approved, hence the lack of logo.

It always used to be, which is why I noticed the logo had changed. If it isn't now, I wondered what had changed! My friend noticed it had also changed on the D&H Alfalfa bag.

Are you sure it was Laminitis Trust approved in the first place? I checked the list of approved feeds a couple of months ago and I'm pretty sure that the only feeds on there were some Dengie ones, a couple of Spillers and Speedibeet

Several feed companies use their own 'laminitis friendly' symbols to denote foods suitable for laminitics, but it is not the same as Laminitis Trust approval.

TGM's right, there are no mixes that are Lami Trust Approved.

Yep I don't think any of D&H's were ever approved. I'm sure that to get approval the feed has to be able to be fed over 50% of the horses total intake and a mix wouldn't be able to do that.

I must be going mad then! Doh! Also use High Fibre cubes by Spillers so maybe that's why?!

Feed companies have to pay to become approved by the trust - therefore some don't bother - their feeds may be just as suitable however they just don't wish to pay to become approved and use the logo on their bags!
