After having my horse savings hijacked by my other half for his buisness (it's horse relaited so let him off)

I have been looking for a loan with view to buy for the next 6 month but there just doesn't seem to be any in this area at all.

Im not looking for a saint i like a challange.

ARGH i need to ride!!

cookies and tea for listening to my moan.x

I got my horse that way, he's a cracker. They are out there :). Maybe put a wanted ad saying you are looking for a lwvtb, can't hurt :).

Yes I think they do. Especially at the end of the summer when people are trying to sell them on and they can't shift them. Mine was out on long term loan since last October and now he's being sold. If people are in a position where they can't ride the horse and it's costing them money to keep it then I think they may be willing to put it out on loan with a view to buy.

I think people are very wary about doing this with good reason but there will be people out there.

Good luck, I hope you find the right horse.

Thanks

I will see about writing an ad.

I can totally understand why some people are wary now. The idiots who mess people around ruin it for genuine people.

My boy will be up for sale next year & tbh as a seller I won't consider loaning as I've heard too many horror stories. I know the majority of loaners are good but I really wouldn't risk it unless it was to a friend xx

Have you considered taking on a "rescue". I got a super little 15.2 tb from the Blue Cross who has turned out to be such a little star.

I notice they have a 15.2 tbx called Tokay at their Rolleston centre who looks nice.

Darley Rehoming rehome retired racehorses from age 3 upwards. They ask for a small donation, think its about £100, as the "purchase" price, but then it is your horse completely.

Of course if you are amongst the misguided who hate tbs, then forget the above!!:D

I got my current horse as lwvtb, he is a very sweet horse but occassionally will rodeo :( (nothing physically wrong with him, he learnt this with his owner before the one I had him from, as she used to fall off and then not get back on when he did it) so his owner wanted to make sure whoever had him could handle him! We agreed a price at the beginning and wrote a contract including that price.

If you are looking for a challenge perhaps try http://www.projecthorses.co.uk
Good Luck

I put a horse out on lwvtb last year and its helpful for me as im not having to feed the extra mouth :) I dont think there going to buy her but its no problem as i think she'll find a home easily as it has many uses - but the only problem is she's around 8hh!

hmm cossack riding ..one strapped to each foot prehaps?

I have a 15hh 4yo cob for sale, but only got timewasters on the phone. It has now been suggested that I could maybe get him sold if I put him out lwvtb for a little bit. The problem is, he is fat and unfit as well as being green and needing brought on. I would be worried that a loaner would gallop the daylights out of him or scare him senseless to find out his limits and then send a ruined youngster back to me :(

I have my saint of a lad on loan now for a year with view to buy him at end of contract, Price has been put in contract too.

I did this through word of mouth aswel, and I've not even met his owner it's all based on trust but no doubt my lad is being totally spoilt rotten and has already had me spend loads on him in the 2weeks I have had him.

When I was looking I struggled due to others out there giving loaners a bad name, which is sad as like me there are really decent people looking.

Best of luck though and place an ad up on all the sites if you can.
Like selling though you will get people trying to give away the old ones they no longer want which too is sad.

Personally I wouldn't ever let my boy out on loan with view to buy unless I knew the potential owner or was recommended by someone who I knew and trusted. So much damage can be done by someone who you don't know which may make your horse un-sellable at the very minimum. I will never sell my horse as he has temprement problems which many people wouldn't tolerate (although he has been threatened with the Kite-Katti tin many a time)!!! :) :) :)
