Hi all,

This might be a bit cheeky but i was wondering if anyone in the Herts/ Bucks/ Middlesex area drives and would be willing to let me come along and help/ have a go?

I have a riding 4 sec A who's intended to be my daughters pony but i'd love to break him to drive eventually but i've never done it before. I can't afford lessons at the mo so thought maybe someone could give me an idea of the basics. I'd be happy to help out in return (muck out/ poo pick/ groom/ company out driving or whatever) if anyone whould be nice enough to help me out

ETA: The intention is to save up and have him prof broken to drive when the time comes

Have you tried contacting the Herts and Bed group of the British Driving Assoc?

http://bedsbh.britishdrivingsociety.co.uk/index.htm

They might well have a member who would be very pleased to show you the ropes/let you learn to groom/backstep or whatnot.

One event in particular looked like it might be of interest to you

24 MAR `Take a Look at Carriage Driving` from 11am for two hours at Shuttleworth EC. near Old Warden, Beds. A chance to use the indoor arena or just come for a drive out. Help will be on hand for those needing advice on any aspect of their turnouts. We`ll also invite potential members to come along and learn about our hobby.
