Hi, Id love to hear from anyone who has a groninger warmblood or even a part bred groninger. I have a registered het groninger parrd 4 year old that came over from the Netherlands approx 6 months ago. She is 16hh (just) and I am hoping that she will grow more. Please get in touch if you know anything about groninger horses.

Hi
Groningen horses were breed as heavyish horses to work in the fields, they were used with the Gelderlander to create the DWB they are very rare and are endangered, they are now part of the KWPN stud book. I don't have one but would love one as they are renown for their lovely nature and for being long lived and sound.
They are here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groningen_Horse

and here is more about them

Hope this helps. Reason I know about them is I have a Gelderlander, which is from a similar back ground.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I know the basics as I have done my research on the goninger background and breeding, although they are not part of the KWPN stud book, they have their own stud book called het groninger paard, this was made official in the 1980s.
Just wanted to know more about when they stop growing, ie will my 4 and a half year old grow taller and has any one had one thats been a decent jumper ie tracks over a meter?
Im actually thinking about selling mine as she is lovely and will make someone a perfect horse and has been verry well schooled but I just want something a little more exciting!
