I'm sitting at the computer in my rather fetching nightie, but I just know I have to go and do a last check on the horses. Now my mind knows they will be fine til morning, but I just have to go and check anyway. 5 mins each way in the car. I hope I don't get stopped as wearing no underwear and just stinky jeans and a nightie with wet hair, no make up and horse poo fingernails is not a good look.......I always feel that if I do a final skip out it won't be as bad in the morning.....is anyone else like this, or am I obsessive? I'll check back into your replies when I get back......give me half an hour.

haha yes. My horse is at my grandparents farm and i practically live their so i'm paranoid for the rest of night unless we have that quick check up. Whether it's 11o'clock when i get home from work or 10.30 in the pjs with a cuppa and piece of battenburg in hand, i have to check. they don't appreciate me putting the lights on and waking them up though!

Yep all the time esp as dont finish work until at least 7 each night so normally go up in my pjs only 5min drive max. Have been up with her when she had colic with vet their in my pjs and im sure will be again next time she has tildren treatment and goes down with the after effect again however this time nicer pjs as nice looking vet.

I live next door to the horse!

The only time I go up and see him later on in the evening is when I have been away. Otherwise I leave at 6/6.30 and don't go back until the same time next day!! (full livery)

I don't worry about him, he's big and ugly enough to look after himself :)

Yep, me and girls used to go and do morning feeds and late night checks, and let the hens out, in pj's, when we had them at home. We are know about 6 miles away so son't get a late night check done as often as we would like but do occasionally bob down late on just to see what is going on.

Well I've made myself feel better now. Both had drunk half their water, mare needed more haylage and also needed lighter weight rug as was sweating under the one she had on.....the only problem is that I'll start to feel guilty on the nights I don't go!

Every night, without fail, half 11, in pyjamas out to check my babies! Roy gets his last feed and everything gets skipped out, hayed and watered.

I can't sleep if I don't do it, so being stuck in hospital and bed for the last week has been AWFUL!

I have occasionally encountered people as I stagger across the orchard in the dark with my dogs, and once Harry decided he was going to have a mad rave... and I ended up walking past about a hundred drunk people wearing a strappy top, tweed coat, pair of flowery shorts, wellies, and wet hair.

I hope they thought I was a hallucination...

mine are a mile away and I pop up at night on my bike in my rather fetching stripey pjs, waterproof and purple Hunters and in the morning to add to the look I go in my pj's sporting a lovely 'do' called bedhead........my neighbours must love me lol....
