Or is it just mine? :p

For the last 6 months or so Frank has required his teeth clearing out, the daft bugger has gone and got a gap between his two front incisors (initially was just a gap at the top, now has opened a little but still v. narrow at the bottom) and gets a lovely big bolus of fermenting grass stuck in it and under his top lip! :o

This wasn't too bad when he was eating hay as it was a bit too long to get stuck too quick, now they are on grass all the time its a daily job.. he hates it too ;) :p.

Lovely! Friends old mare had a few missing from an accident, used to have to regularly clean her gaps so she could eat properly!

Yes :D. It took a while to find the right one... needs to be stiff bristles. I dip it in Cider Vinegar, which he likes, and wiggle away.

Can't reach the big gap at the back, sadly, so have to get EDT out 6 mnthly to extract the nasty stuff. But the front ones I clean about once a week.

My mare did - gap between two fronts got very blocked and smelly so I'd brush her teeth when needed. The only thing she ever really objected to!

cider vinegar ;) perhaps I am too mean going with the grab nose and go for it method :). If my sister tries it he is very funny, they just end up arguing while he tries to bite the brush!

I will tell him he is not so abnormal then ;)

no lol, but i am thinking of getting the big grey girl her own handbag to swing at the boys instead of kicking out at them, i also think she'd look fab in mascara but haven't dared try it yet:p

We have several donkeys who have their teeth cleaned every day with toothbrush and toothpaste. We also have the tweezers on hand!

I am finding this most amusing..

he is however not getting toothpaste  and I think he might eat tweezers ;) :p. Most of it flicks out easily, it ends up ping pong ball sized under his top lip (in less than 24 h) its just the little bits that need some work. . unfortunately it doesn't seem to slow his eating down ;)

Of course its lovely! Compared to the fact I once had to clean out tuna sandwich from friends mare. Would be the day I was doing her!

My old boy had a bit of gum disease due to grass stuck in his teeth :o never realised until the dentist pointed it out, now i give his teeth a once over with a toothbrush and he loves it :D

The residents of the carehomes certainly love it when we take a donkey into visit them, and the donkey is smelling minty fresh! :)
