Does Anybody Have Any Idea's On What Make Of Show Saddle For a High Withered TB?

Hi everyone!

I just wondered if anybody had any idea's on what make of saddle would be suited for a high withered TB?
It needs to specifically be a show saddle, and can't be a dressage or VSD :( which I know REALLY limits the options.

If anyone has any idea's i'd be rather appreciative as i've had a look at so many and can't find one arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh

Have you tried an Ideal Josephine? It's the same tree as the Jessica Dressage, but with showing flaps.

I have a high withered Arab who everyone asks 'is he an Anglo' as he looks more TB and it suits him :D
 
How about a working hunter saddle? Mine has straight flaps but you get a bit more seat depth so its very versatile. Mine is a Derby House and fitted my narrow high withered mare (welsh D x, yes I know wrong shape!) perfectly.
 
Kieffers have cut back pommels are are - according to my saddler - almost ideal for TBs, they do a good WH cut which would be perfectly fine.

At the moment I use an ideal and a Farrington - but exceptions to every rule my ex racehorses are in MW and W saddles due to huge shoulder! Best thing would be to consult a good saddler who can help you choose a saddle and flock it to best fit your horse?
 
I ride my TB in a GFS XCH Thoroughbred, especially designed for horses with high withers or hollows behind the shoulders. It has a changable gullet system too which is great should your TB change shape. I love it, i got an ex demo so it was a bit cheaper than they are brand new.
 
I have a general purpose/jumping saddle made by Berney Bros. of Kilcullen in Ireland for my very high withered TB. It has a cut back pommel designed for high withers and I know they made show saddles so perhaps they make them with cut back pommels as well. My guy is over 17hh and not a narrow horse and this saddle suits him fine.
 
I know they're only 'pretend leather' but how about the Thorowgood high wither T6? I originally wanted the T6 but couldnt get one made brand new in brown so had to go for high wither T4 ...

We have the saddler coming out next week aswell to assess how much he's changed since last year so its much appreciated :)

Get in touch with Peter Wilkinson at fylde, they do TB fit show saddles, its not on their website but they do. We had one for our tb and it was a brilliant fit
