Before you loan your horse out get a Loan agreament sorted out which has been checked out be a specialist equine solicitor.

Also ask for their passport, driving licence and rates bill (or utility bill no older than 3 months) and take a copy of them. This will ensure that they are who they say they are.

Also both Freezemark and micro-chip your horse before it goes out on loan.

I am afraid you can not trust anyone - however pleasant and plausable they appear to be.

Too many horses have completly disapeared when they have gone out on loan.

I would always do that.

Which is what worries me and why i want to do as many checks as possible and why i have asked if anybody knows anything about these people.
