Does anybody know what the BS insurance actually covers you for?

Amongst others, I have an OAP pony that has ended up in my care and just considering some insurance for her. She is uninsurable from a vet fees point of view with exclusions etc, so am just wanting some insurance in case she ended up on a road or kicking a car etc etc and causing any damage (all highly unlikely but am quite a cautious person). Would I be covered by any of my memberships. Currently only a BS member and my son a PC member. I know the membership has some public liability, but when would offer protection? Anyone?!!?? Thanks in advance - not the most exciting question I know!

I think the BS public liability insurance is insurance of 'last resort'. I'm not sure it covers every equine you own. It might be worth giving them a call. SEIB are their underwriters I think.

I'm a BS member but feel a bit more secure with BHS public liability insurance.

I had a look at that Slightly Foxed but I don't think the ins from the BHS is very much different. The personal accident bit is ridiculous - if offers a couple of K for totally life changing accidents like loss of site in both eyes. Had a look into getting the pony insured on its own policy and it would cost approx £4 a month - going to do that and not worry about it any more.
