Really like canary jods but never seem to see people in them. What discipline are they most suited too and who wears them?

Hoping to do a RH class this spring, am i correct in thinking that i would need to wear a shirt and tie that matched my TBs coloured browband?
Would canary jods be suitable to wear with navy jacket and velvet hat??

Not wild about them. Brings to mind jaundiced legs, cornfed chickens and screamy children stamping their feet and saying 'mommy, I HATE this pony'

...but that's just my tuppence worth :D

Yes they would be correct but not the really bright yellow that you see the showpony riders wearing . A more subtle toned down version is what most adult riders wear. You also might find breeches are comfier under long boots than jods!

I've got adult canary jods -- not bright yellow, but still quite striking.
I thought I would hate them ... but looking at turnout photos I've actually quite smitten with them, these days!

They are correct in Riding horse (As are other light colours except white) acceptable in SH classes and WRONG in cob classes where it specifies 'beige'...

I concur with the stroppy show pony class peeps but each to there own...

BnB

Sister does for everything competing-wise, as they look smart and go well with her tweed jacket. She's also had to do the screamingly yellow jods for showing a M&M last year but we steered well clear of hair ribbons!

I do (welsh/large m&m)

well i did for the last few seasons, just steering more towards beige again now :)
(struggled to find a "yellow" picture, thats not owned by anyone else!)

I think i will try a pair - thinking they may go nicer with a tweed jacket rather than a navy. New tweed needed anyway esp as i am wanting to show my natives inhand this year too.........
Thanks everyone :)

Canart yellow jodhpurs - yuk yuk yuk, screams to mind temper tantrum kids in lead rein classes with bows in their hair bigger the childs face and a very pretty pony with a browband with rosettes bigger than the poor pony's head!!! I always think cream breeches/jodhpurs look smart for hack and RH with beige for hunters, my personal opinion

Its becoming more popular to wear canary jods. Yes your shirt and tie and bobble shoud match your browband, In riding horse classes you wear a fancy browband and a tweed jacked and in show classes its navy or black. :D Hope this helps.!! :D

I do for WHP and showing. Most people do up to 153cm, but seems to be more common for adults to wear beige/cream. Though I do think the canary looks smarter, I'd rather have canary any day (in the correct classes ofc).

I did showing from 8-15 years old....it was a sea of yellow slightly jaundiced legs galore!! Some people really go for liver disease yellow, others go for a softer cream; dependent on personal preference, outfit colours (tweed or navy jacket etc), and the colour of the horse being ridden. xoxo
