A friend of mine used to collect them when we were younger, but I went for dream ponies - my niece has got all of mine now. I've got some nice Royal Doulton horses though that OH gave me for birthdays when it said Horse at the top of my list!
I've just stupidly got my nephew into these, and currently have 2 stable mates boxed on my desk and a paint your own breyer horse kit that is far to old for him!
I have a few (used to be very into collecting and pedigree-ing them). I started off on Julips and My Beautiful Ponies when I was little, went on to Magpies, then discovered Breyers. My favourite three I have are Ideal, the chestnut TB (Red Rum mould, don't know the name of the one) and Milton. I don't have that many Breyers though. Check out my webpage (should be on profile? If not PM me
) to see my old collection, it hasn't been updated in yonks though!
The new Locarno model is a bit rubbish IMO! I want this year's Salinero. Always wanted a Huck Bey too.
i used to be obsessed! pretty much until i got my real horse... i have 7 big ones (got one each birthday, and the rest with Xmas money) and they all had headcollars and rugs and bridles and stuff
couldn't afford a saddle though...
my fave is one that's made to be Red Rum, he's so cute, i called him Flint
used to have about 50 breyer models at one time, and lots of others aswell (all together about 100 models + stables and miniature brushes, buckets, haynets, truck and trailer, fencing, showjumps, cross country jumps, tack, boots, riders, riders clothes, mini carrots and apples etc)
i only have 2 breyer modles left (Seabiscuit and Ideal) and the truck and trailer,, which is collecting dust in my wardrobe
hehe it was the closest thing i got to a horse had years of fun with my models
I collect Beswick horses. Started purely by mistake when I bought a couple of pretty looking ornaments in a charity shop. I then realised they were Beswick (some years later) and ended up getting more. Most of them have legs missing now because my daughter broke them, but I still have them in a box under my bed.
If anyone knows of a glue that works with holding beswick legs back on do let me know. Superglue doesnt seem to work.
Yes I have collected them for a while. I have about 10. My favourite is a grey Lusitano. I put them on display and people think they are expensive ornaments cos o the way they are lit teehee. Every now and then I buy myself a "horse" as a treat.
I used to collect them and show them as well, those were the days before I got Murphy. I still have most of them, including an Animal Artistry show pony painted up to look like my favourite riding school horse. Had a good few customs as well, my mum almost cut her thumb of with a stanley knife helping me and the fumes when you heat a breyer up to reposition its legs are foul. I enjoyed it at the time but prefer my real neds.
