Does anyone else find numnahs hard to fit??

It drives me mad, "full" size rarely fits a horse, especially the ones that are in the shape of the saddle, I resorted to an exercise sheet with my OAP mare last winter, as after trying 5 numnahs, I gave up. I have a 14.3 hh cob at the moment, and the numnah is full size, the cob one was miles too small. Does anybody else have the same issue or is it just me??
 
We make numnahs and the most common question we get asked is what size numnah do I need, usually closely followed by he/she is 14hh/15hh/16hh/17hh. The answer unfortunately isn't that straight forward as a 15hh might have anything from a 16" saddle to an 18" saddle and it also depends on the make/style of saddle as they really do vary so much.

To get a perfect fit, take a template. Put a saddle cloth on the horse, place the saddle on top and draw round with some chalk where you would like the numnah to sit, then take it to your tack shop and sit all the different makes on top of your template and see which one fits best :)

You're not alone. The cob ones are usually too small for a cob, esp if thick as well. My coblet has a full size one and the 17 hh boy has a dressage saddlecloth cos no numnahs fit.

BTW the Griffin Nuumed Hi wither numnahs fit more beasts than anything else, even if your horse isnt what you think of as high withered.
 
I use the NuuMed ones all the time and never had a problem. Horses are 16.1 and 16hands and both have full size numnahs, Hi-withered ones too even thought they dont have high withers. Just like the way they stand up off the horses backs and tuck up within the gullet of the saddle. Wouldnt buy any others now.
 
I prefer the shaped ones to suit a high whither. Not keen on anything square.

I got a bit of a 'ism' about making sure the numnah is pulled up into the gullet of the saddle.
 
I think it might be the cut of our saddle, as they all seem to stick out at one side of it (can't remember if it's the front or back) but yeah, it's annoying. Have bought new ones and they're all the same, plus if pulled up into the gullet are even worse. I don't like big square saddle cloths though.
 
Thanks guys, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one. It's seriously annoying though, I dont ever remember having this prob as a teenager, (and i was fussy!). Must make them differently, or my memory is not what it was!!
