Doesn't sit very comfortably with me... Poor dogs
Quite
A bit shameful really on the owners part.
I'm afraid my animals come first and I couldn't take a job that meant I couldn't look after my animals properly.
I actually bought a Sunday paper today - first time for.... can't remember how long! And this story was on page 5.
But I think it does bring to home the fact that rescue/charity homes have such rigid policies on rehoming that it is no wonder they find it hard to place a dog or dogs.
I am sure that if some of them were a bit more flexible or took each applicant individually then an awful lot more dogs would find perfect homes.
How sad. I would take happily take him - he looks lovely and has such gentle eyes. They dont cover Scotland though, only England and Wales according to their website - anyway I am sure they will be inundated with offers now - I hope they find both dogs a good home together
Very sad....we dont have much trouble homing older dogs, 2 dogs together however is a slim to none chance, plenty seem to want older/calmer dogs to suit their lifestyle.
Rather sad they served a purpose (no doubt brought in the pounds) and yet now discarded.
Very sad and a similar thing happened to the orangutuan(sp) in the Clint Eastwood films, his name I think was Clyde and I think CE stepped in and found him a home.
Just to say, I don't think this guy should be totally vilified and GSD Rescue, for some of the things I have issues with them on, have put a very good piece on their website.
But I will always find it very sad when elderly dogs are passed on like this, these guys will be lucky because of the fame associated with them, but there are thousands of others up and down the country in the same boat
