Ethel will NOT eat treats! She'll eat apple cores and maybe a qaurter of an apple thats been chopped up, but no more. Carrots are out of the question, as are any other fruit, vegtable, hore bix thingys. But, she will eat mints (after a loooong time trying to convince her they ARE yummy) and thats about it. Does anyone else have a horse that wont eat treats??

I have one that wont eat apples, carrotts, I gave her a mint and she spat it out in disgust lol.
She was 2 when I bought her direct from the breeder and I think she'd never seen a carrot before :(

I tried carrots and apples in her food, she'd eat around them and just leave them ??

After a few months, she will eat the odd bit of carrot or apple and will take a mint, but she's not like my others that love all 3.

Try turnip, my cob also loves bananna which he gets as a rare treat....actually he's a dustbin and would eat anything so I'm only presuming he likes such things x

None of my horses get anything by hand, ever. None of them mug me or bite either. I don't think some of them have ever been fed by hand, treats or even grain.

Even corn cobs and carrots just get put on the ground for them, I don't count them as treats. I certainly don't waste my money on special horse treats for them.
