Well I did have someone to take me this year, which was great but they cannot drive as they are heavily pregnant. And not having been to any shows yet I was a bit gutted. Due to one thing or another stopping me going.
Was going to try hire companies to take me, But it will cost the earth to take one horse to a show. Noone else on the yard will go as they all have trailers etc. And no room in anyones

So fed up thought I would have a good season this year but clearly not meant to be.
Sorry for the moan but never have much luck in getting to any shows always let down in some way or another. As people always pull out of hiring a box leaving me with a 120 box to pay for just me.

Nope, no own transport here either - thankfully I thought ahead last winter and mucked out and exercised for a friend who is a horse transporter by trade and earned myself mate's rates to go to two shows later this summer. Still gonna cost me £120 for two days out, before I even pay the entry fees!

i know how you feel i get to use girl at yards trailer when she is not using it as her horse cant travel with another but its finding someone to tow me, basically i dont get out much at all totally sympathise!

I am saving up to buy a trailer so I can get out more. At the moment I can only get to shows that are near enough to me to hack to (an hour being near), I once hacked for two hours to get to a comp, going wasn't to bad but then hacking the two hours home again at the end of a long day was pretty hard! Are you near enough to hack anywhere, would you consider moving to somewhere that is near to or prehaps is a competition/show centre?

I know its so frustrating, glad I am not the only one. We could easily hire a trailer but we do not have a car to tow it with

Such A pain, as horse is pretty much ready to get out and about. And I simply do not have enough money to hire a box for myself

Yup I know the feeling. I am lucky that I have a friend who will take me places in return for diesel, but it's her being available to take me!

I live nowhere near any shows. It is a half hour drive to a fair few. And no yards with vacancies around the shows

I was hoping someone would have room in their trailers but most are taking both their horses etc.

I had this problem, I got so fed up I worked 6 days a week for a year, doing over time, and bought a small horsebox. Looked at hiring but its so expensive.
