Strange isn’t it…. That you can ride some horses and not others. Why is it I can get on my friends Fizzy tb who usually runs around with her eyes rolling and head in the air and get her to work well, from behind and ‘properly’, do basic lateral work (that she doesn’t usually do) such as shoulder in and flying changes and jump without stopping, but I cannot ride my other friends IDx,

I really struggle to get him to move without his head in the air and an argument, no matter what I do…. ?
Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

The TB looks like the ill schooled harder ride but the IDX is the nightmare - yet apparently used to do dressage? What am I doing wrong?

ive had the same prob, when i was training i had to ride a lovely chunky cob, who was apparently quite hard to collect and get going properly, and a tb type who was very well schooled and apparently was easy to get working well, i found the cob easy and everyone could not believe how well he went and the tb a nightmare, different horses go well for differnt people

I always tend to find that the sharp horses calm right down for me and quiet ones become fizzy. Everytime I ride my friends 2 lazy horses I do not need much leg to keep them forward and working. Yet I can ride a sharp horse like mine and it turns in to the laziest thing ever!
