Just wondering if anyone else out there struggles to get people like Saddle fitter or Dentist out to see their horse?

I've been trying all week to get a Horse Dentist to actually reply to my messages and then they can't come out for weeks??

Same applies to Saddle fitters..

Makes you wonder if they actually want our business.

Really winds me up..

I find getting hold of them fine but trying to book a suitable time a problem. I work weekdays 9-5 and so do they. I also have very little holiday to take and can't always get time off work. My vet is great and will do an 8am appointment as will the farrier.

I usually wait about 6 weeks or so to get my saddle fitter or dentist out, I just bear it in mind when booking them and start the process well in advance of when I want them!!

That said, when my mare had a bump to her mouth with quite alot of bruising I had a big panic and the dentist chatted with me about it on the phone, suggested all would be totally fine and checked the next couple of days about the bruising, and all was totally well. If she had needed him then he would have come out at v late notice.

Both my dentist and saddle fitter are excellent, because of this they both deal with more demand than they have time - I'm happy to wait as they are worth it! They will both also try and accomodate when they come over to fit in with my availability too, though of course then you wind up waiting longer to see them.
