Salt that you put down for ice!!

Mine does!! There is salt down at the yard at the mo and every night my horse comes out of her stable and stands licking the floor for ages.

I read in the paper about the sheep doing it this morning and it made me chuckle coz Senza does it too!!

My horse used to lick mud, I thought it was just because he's slightely odd and will eat anything, but found that he had a mineral deficiancy (not sure of spelling!) He's now has a suppliment called Codlivemins in his feed. Its £15.00 for a massive tub that lasts ages. Its got all the vits in they need and codliveroil. I swear by the stuff. Gives em a lovely shiney coat too.

.....that would make sense, its my old veteran pony (aged 30) that was doing it, and this was a time, when he was turned out, with grass and ad lib hay and not having his tea (which has his suppliments in!)

Needless to say, he is fed his tea everynight now, with suppliments, Seaweed, Garlic and 3 oils and is looking great!! Oh and doesn't have a nice brown mouth and tongue anymore from the mud....errr!!!!

My boy doesn't but there's a story in the Welsh news about some sheep disrupting traffic because they've been licking the road because of sweet tasting salt! Here's the link:
