Does anyone feed Nicotinamide for the relief of Sweet itch?

Question as above really.
Found out that nicotinamide is the active ingredient in Fidavet Cavalesse and was wondering if anyone has fed it to their horse/pony direct.
If so, what doseage do you feed it at?
Any tips/advice/thoughts greatly received.
 
No, but its a B vitamin and mine gets a huge dose of Brewers Yeast, I think 60gms. He also gets a big dose of salt, some linseed, and a mineral balancer. Low sugar and starch food, no alfa alfa ever and I took him off his cheap joint supplement which had glucosamine in it, He has gone from chronic sweet itch to the point where he was dangerous to handle becuase of it, to living out 24/7 with no rugs or anything all through last summer :)

Ours dont get fed any 'nastys'. Only natural traceable sorces. We have started using Thunderbrook Equestrian feeds and they are amazing I have to say. This horse with sweet itch is a new livery turning up at the weekend and want to help him as much as I can. Will look into the brewers yeast. Thanks. And yes, salt was already on my shopping list. lol
