DOES ANYONE FEED RICE BRAN

My 170hh TB/ID mare is a poor doer and a picky eater in the winter and i struggle to keep weight on her. I googled and found rice bran to be a good weight gain feed. Can you buy it in the UK? If so can you buy a generic type cheaper, instead of a well known branded type? If so how much does it cost, what is it called and has anyone used it?

I did feed it 3 years ago when for a while I was able to source it at a very reasonable price. It is amazing for putting on condition without spookiness - just can't get it at anything like a reasonable price at the moment or I would still be using it
 
My YO has struggled for the last 2 yrs keeping weight on 3 mares on the yard....didnt matter what you fed them they stressed it off,however last yr she put them on wheatfeed and they did fantastically,non heating also...just needs wetting VERY well before feeding as it swells slightly,baileys i believe sell it...but you can get own brand and it isnt expensive

My horse once tied up, so I try to avoid any type of grain or carbs, but I read that rice bran is good for conditioning horses prone to tying up.

For those who have tried it, can you get a generic rice bran? and how much does it cost now?

I thought it was none heating? Is Megajewel by Saracen like Equijewel?

I tried Equjewel last year and the only difference it made was the weight of my purse lol

I have been feeding Equijewell to my ex racehorse since last summer- along with Re-leve. It put weight on quickly and easily (and is cheaper than Outshine) and his coat looks fantastic
