Hi all, I have just moved my youngster to a private yard in Denham and I am just getting to know the rides in the area but have to ride by myself as no one else at my yard rides.
This isn't a major problem but my yongster could do with a confidence boost and it would be more fun to have company.
I think there are few yards in the area, one is called The Isle of Wight farm, I wanted to know if there was anyone interested in meeting up and going for rides at the weekend or failing that someone who knows the area and the rides helping me link up bridlepaths etc?

Hi,
I'm not in your area unfortunately, but I was in the same boat regards to not having anyone to hack out with! I put an ad in my local tack shop and got several replies! So may be worth your while doing the same! Good luck.

Coincidence - would like to find a yard in Denham and am always looking for hacking partners. Any advice on yards?

Hi, well I know there is a private house near to marish lane that is taking on liveries, I could get the number for you if you like? There is a yard called Isle of Wight farm aswell as I mentioned previously, I think you get to the yard by a lane near marish lane again.
The yard I am on is a yard i work on and that is private, I am just lucky enough to be able to keep my horse there.
Oh now I think about it, there is another yard off of west hyde lane, it is also a cattery, it's called Pipwood, I am really new to the area and have just spotted these places by driving around in search of bridlepaths so sorry I can't really be anymore help.

Be careful if you do go for the IOW farm, the woman who owns my pony used to keep all hers up there, and the lady has a nasty temper, she once threw a whole bucket of sugar beet at the owner of my pony!

I'm a bit too far away - in Tatling End - the closest hacking we have is Black Park, it's pretty much all roads otherwise, and I have no one else to hack there with :/

I have ridden my youngster up to the A213 right by the entrance to bakers wood but as I have been taking things slowly, I decided the second week to go the opposite way and come back through the woods but I got halfway round and a massive puddle stopped us in our tracks, it was quite deep and I couldn't get my boy through, i got off and tried leading (resulting in wet feet!) but still no luck.
I have been doing a lot of research into the bridlepaths in the area and it looks as though I am actually in quite a good area apart from the road the yard is actually situated on as it is just too narrow and people drive too fast on it with no regard for other road users.
Going to attempt Denham country park, would that not be within a rideable distance to you azouria?

Thank you - ideally, I would like to be able to ride in Denham Country Park without road work!! I am happy where I am, but Denham would be much, much easier for me to get to - IF I could get some good hacking.

I rode to Denham country park today from Old rectory lane, only had to cross the A413 and ride through denham village, there are quite a few rides in the area and you can get out quite far, its just finding all the link ups.
I know there is a yard that is doing grass livery that has space for 1 mare thats up the road from me, apart from that its the others I suggested. Let me know if you want a number to contact them x
