Are they any good?

I was looking at either choosing between a fal rug, or a bucas one for him, but not to impressesd with the fal rug. It fits him very well, except for his shoulders, and as the front straps are not adjustable, it rubs him.

I have been on bucas's website...but the pictures of the irish turnout are not very clear how it fastens. can anyone explain it to me.

my horse is 3/4 tb, and hes quite lightweight, but has a broader chest than a tb. I have found that all his other rugs that have buckles etc on the front fit him nicely.

I personally am not a fan of their fit. Get a Rhino instead, they fit beautifully, have never rubbed my TBx and last forever.

My Bucas (about 3 years old - may have changed) has 2 swivel buckles (like a rug belly strap buckle) covered by a thick velco strap. No adjustment possible. They fit my big shouldered ID types but I ALWAYS use Bossy's bibs under all my rugs to prevent rubs (no, I'm not advertising, just swear by them) www.bossysbibs.com

We bought 3 or 4 of the Bucas turnouts last year and we are very pleased with them so much so we bought some of the stable rugs as well. All ours though are on ridden M&Ms so not a TB among them!! The front is adjustable but we have some Rambos and as far as I can remeber they are not adjustable either. The front fastening can be a bit fiddly until you get used to it - our rugs have the same fastenings as mentioned above. We didnt have a problem with Mane rubbing which is a big No No

with M&Ms obviously!
Saying that bought my Sec D the Rhino turnout with the full neck last year ( blue check one) and despite his best attempts he didnt trash it and we have one for my OH ex TB chaser this winter as he prefers the outside life they are good value for money too.
