I am in the process of looking at a horse with HEARTBREAKER) X LYS DE DARMEN X DARCO breeding and wondering about suitability for eventing?
Any experiences? I know the majority are show jumpers.

It's unusual for a stallion to be successful eventing in the hands of an amateur - being entire makes them very careful over a fence - great for showjumping, less so for eventing. A late cut gelding will still be a stallion in his mind for some time afterwards, and can make finding an appropriate livery yard difficult.

You don't want to fall off them at a competition and have them making their way back to the lorry park by themselves ......!

The bloodlines are very purpose-bred for showjumping - I would be surprised if he made a successful event horse.

I know someone who had a horse by heartbreaker, she sold him a couple of years ago. He is eventing at ** level with current owner. Don't know finer details of horses personality but he's a cracking jumper and looks like a machine XC.
