The weather today has been horrendous and got me thinking that in a few weeks time we are going to have to start thinking about building our field shelter. We are going to do it ourselves, but wondered if anyone has any plans to make it easier for us?

If you find some can you let me know? We've been thinking about doing the same thing

There are loda of places that sell field shelters. The ideal type that you cold consider would be one that is mobile, it is basically a steel frame that the shelter is attached to. you can then move this around the field, costs a bit more £2k and under.

don't have the open bit facing the normal wind direction! or you may have to get it back from a nabours field!!!!!

we built ours, it was very simple, built everything in 4ft frames screwed them together, same with the roof, in 3 frames screwed it on felted it and hey presto a shelter to match the best. we shiplapped the sides and it looks like a professional job. and it cost £390 in wood and a day to put up. much much much cheaper. size 10x12. i did buy one from everything wood at a very good price, it cost £900 delivered and i lived 300 miles away from them size was 30 x 12 so very reasonable

Just be aware that you may need to have planning permission for a permanent shelter. So make sure it is either built on "skids". Or maybe invest in one of the material ones instead?
