With the Ifor Williams body on the back? Just curious to find out if they sway much when you have a horse in and what people thought of them in general :)

They are made to be bolted on to Ford Transits.

Ford Transits have a high centre of gravity.

Ideal for shetland ponies but anything larger and they will sway from side to side.

Far safer with a container built on a chassis pan cab Renault Master as the centre of gravity is far lower.

I borrowed one to drive my horse 30miles down the road to a ride. My mare loaded fine even though the ramp was steep. I found it ok to drive, but when I went to load her up to go home, she completely refused to go back in, havin been a previously good loader. I eventually had to get my dad to collect her in my usual trailer and drive the box home empty after exhausting all other options. She loaded straight away.

I can only put it down to either: the steep angle of the ramp; my driving; or the box being uncomfortable to travel in. Anyway I won't put her in one again, which was a shame as they are nifty and reasonably priced.

Never been in one but seen one. The ramp looks very steep and the general height of the floor to the ground just looks too much so I wouldn't imagine they give a very good ride.

My friend had an Ifor Williams box on a VW LT35 and loved it, I have a container on a Dodge Commando and it is higher than I would like so need to be very careful, I used to have a transit which was lovely, but no way I'd ever fit Mike in it!

Hi, thanks for the replies. I'm looking for a 3.5t box and keep coming across this type and they're usually pretty cheap. I know the centre of gravity is high so that's why I was asking what they were like. :-)
