Hi Guys I am hoping someone can help me find the inpossible. My YO is looking for a 15.3ish 6 to 10 year old allrounder. She is not yet ready for a plod but dosn't want a TB. It must be sane and sensible with no vices and no history of lameness. It also must be 100% in traffic and to hack alone. She thinks she may like to hunt occasionally so the horse should also be able to do that.
She dosn't trust dealers (in fact I think she thinks everyone is out to dupe her!!!) I have trawled the usual places but any that seem to be suitable seem to be the other end of the country! Am starting to lose the will to live

We look on NFED regularly and havn't seen anything recently but I do now check most days. Price isn't really an issue but hopefully 5 to 7k should find something especially at this time of year! It also would be a gorgeous private home

Thanks for that but I know she wont even entertain looking at a 3 year old and I doub't if she would consider a cob although we all know how lovely and sprightly some cobs can be

Her last horse who is sadly no longer with us was a strapping ID x TB and her ideal would be a slightly smaller version of him.

I think she would now come up to the midlands as it is proving impossible to find something her in Hampshire. I have got to go and do neds now (Bl***y weather

i was TBH when i first started looking for a horse but now i love my full tb mare, shes really safe and sensible and goes everywhere on her own - even though shes only 4 shes alot more sensible than all my friends horses

and there not TBs!

Why not a TB? My boy fits that whole description (although would NEVER be for sale in a million years) and he is the perfect, sanest horse I've ever met and he happens to be full TB and an ex racer to boot!!!

As Milly says above, hers also happens to be sane and a lot better behaved than her friends horses who are not TB's!!! So dont discount a GOOD TB just because of predjudice about the breed and the silly belief that they are all raging nutters!

Someone in W's yard has one for sale-an appaloosa, 12 years old, perfect in all ways and very safe BUT wont do things like sponsored rides or hunting as this is the only time it gets overexcited and stupid. Fab in the school, at shows has done BSJA well and absolutely safe out hacking alone in the heaviest of traffic- has been on the A34/ dual carriageway etc!

Thanks for the replys. She has this fixed ideas regardsing TB's and no matter what I say she can't see past it. OB you know I am a huge TB fan and I know quieter TB's than some cobs!!! OB the Appy you also know I would be a fan of but if it blows a fuse in company then it certainly wont do. You know how paranoid C is

Yes he caught my eye but I googled the number and it appears to be a dealer way up Newcastle way linked to the hunt. I wonder if he that good then whey are they selling him so close to the start of the hunting season. If he was much closer then he might be worth a look but thank you anyway.
