long story, but here goes
We got 2 girl kittens on the 3rd July that were 4.5 months old
i called around several vets to get the best rates for vac, chip and spaying
i went with one company, who offered a 'kitten pack' for vac and chip which also got you a 10% discount of spaying
they have there first vac on the 6th July - and apparently to young to be spayed
2nd vac 3 weeks later (27th July) and i wanted them spaying but they said that they cant do it at the same time.
the earliest they could offer for the 2 cats that we could make was the 11th Aug (we was on holiday for just over a week)
i confirmed the cost of the spaying at booking over the phone because i also asked how we go about getting the 10% discount
it was confirmed that the discount was on file and would be automatically applied
day before spaying the vet called to remind us about staving the cats from 8pm and during this conversation it had become obvious that we had been booked into the wrong venue (this vets have 4 different venues in different locations) and there was no way be could drop them off in time, aswell as the kids and get to work on time.
it was rearranged for the correct venue today (12th)
hubby went to drop them off this morning, but it wasnt open - turned out the receptionist had an issue getting in - the practice was full off apologies, but after nearly 40 mins wait, hubby couldnt wait any longer, because he has to drop kids off before work.
practice has rearranged again for tomorrow - however when hubby came home, he mentioned the cost and it was way more than i was quote - thinking hubby must have been mistaken i called the vets.
The lady i spoke to, confirmed that the price had increased, she couldnt tell me when because it was her first day back after a weeks holiday and this was the first time she'd looked/noticed
there was no management to speak too, but i left a message to be called back tomorrow from someone in the management team
spaying is currently on hold for them
my question is, can vets do this or do they need to use the price i was given at the time off booking? (surely this is a verbal contact?) the price has increased from £120 to £168.80 for the 2 cats.
