Hi just wondered if anyone on here fed these? My guys are fed on balancers and get hay of an evening, but I just wanted to add some more fibre and bulk.
I have done in the past, and find them excellent for keeping weight on in winter, and a non-cereal source of energy for my laid back newfie. I soak them as i find greedy ponies eat them way too quickly otherwise.
just be aware that once soaked they do swell quite abit, so will make a fair amount of feed. I used to use about a cup dry weight (approx 250g worth) and that was plenty for my boy
I feed them to my good doer cob so she thinks she has something scrummy!! Bless her heart otherwise she has finished her feed in 1 minute and looks longingly at my TB's bucket!! I can bulk out her meagre fibre lite mix ration with soaked Graze on she loves them
I soak them over night. If i forget to soak them you can make them with boiling water and feed straightaway (i leave to cool first!)
I feed it to my good doer as she is at the right weight at the moment and i dont want her to loose any or gain any! Ive never had any problems with it and have used it for years, i do add a broad spectrum vit supplement and a hand ful of fibre lite mix. I do only use this in winter though.
