I am wondering if you can keep them with horses? Also you are meant to keep them in pairs but i'm wondering if they can be kept with horses whether you can just have one. Only looking into it at this stage! Trying to find out as much as possible. Thanks.

She has a very established herd and i keep my horses here aswell and after the intial omg what is that from both sides things settled down nicely and now the horses just treat them like most would sheep.
We always reccomend that they are kept in pairs though.
Hope that helps a little

My sister used to be a breeding manager foer a llama farm in the US...and now and again she'd bring home some to stay with our horses. Llamas aren't *that* different than alpacas being camelids, but haven't got any experience of them specifically. However, while the llamas bonded okay with the horses (one "mourned" for months by laying on our mare's grave in the paddock) we did have one serious accident involving a horse kicking a llama in the face while playing on a windy day. Shattered the poor llama's jaw and it had to be euthanised.

We have had single llamas in with a single horse, and it worked for all.

Have three alpacas and one horse. We keep them at home together. They go out- mainly together although alpacas have their own fields too- everyday. Then at night they all come in to the stables. For us it works a treat.

Would recommend at least two- three even better. If you're anywhere near the midlands your welcome to come and meet them!
