My mare is getting really irritated by pollen/flies/fresh air (!!) whilst out hacking & shakes her head & tries to itch her nose. A friend suggested a nose net. :)
Do they actually work & stay on whilst you're riding?!

Ive ridden with one. They deff stay on! It did work on the headshaking, and I'd reccomend trying one. But horsey trying to blow the net away/eat it proved quite interesting :D

Yep - we used one on 13hh welshie. its attached to the noseband by being sandwiched between velcro. It worked for him. Just don't let them rub with in on - quite expensive if you use the "real" ones and they get a big hole in it.

Thanks! Think I'll invest in one. Not sure what she'll think of having to wear one, especially as she'll have no chance of a sneaky snack whilst we're out, but definitely worth a try!! :)

My mare is a headshaker (allergic to tree pollen) and she has to wear a nose net all the time. She has the equilibirum ones which are great as you can just stick them in the washing machine when they are dirty and they last for years. My mare has a flash noseband as otherwise if she was just in cavesson she will shake her head and it just flaps up and down. The flash will keep it secure on her nose.

Lol - doesn't stop my boy grabbing a snack! He is allergic to pollen, and hates flies, so wears his net most of the time - his previous owner just kept it on all the time, so I have too. It is held on with velcro and I use a flash noseband to stop it flapping about.
