As the topic asks, does anyone here run their Diesel cars /
4 X 4's on a fuel other than Petrol/Diesel.

Did you have to get your vehicle modified?
Does that make the carbon emissions zero?
Do you have to do anything else to the vehicle?
Where do you buy the fuel? And what is the tax on it?
Does the car run OK in the winter?

Thanks

I run mine on a mix of diesel and cooking oil (50/50) which I buy from the supermarket. No modifications needed, although my car is fairly old (W reg). Wouldn't risk it on a newer (more expensive) car though.

So far so good, been doing it for about 4 months.

My friend's partner makes it and runs their 4x4 on it will no problems. A few friends use it too, although most prefer to use a mix with normal diesel(50/50). It is carbon neutral but gives off other pollutants, but it is more environmentally friendly than diesel and reuses a waste product. The only thing is my friend's car smell like a BBQ but it is still a nice smell than diesel fumes.

You don't need to modify anything and it won't effect your tax etc. If you it mix it with normal diesel it may help it start better in the winter

I think biofuel is going to be huge in the future. Better for the environment and way cheaper.
